Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a deep tissue method of treatment that breaks the cycle of spasm and pain in the body by addressing what are called trigger points. These are areas of spasm in the muscle that are lacking blood flow and oxygen causing a build up of lactic acid, which in turn makes the muscle sore. Using pressure appropriate for the client allows for release of this condition and proper blood and oxygen to flow in the affected area. There may be some soreness for the next 24 hours, but the change can be dramatic as far as ease in muscle movement and range of motion as well as reduction of pain.

Based in Hawaiian Shamanism, Lomi Lomi metaphorically means “return to the source”, to remember one’s true nature. Long flowing forearm strokes are used to relax as well as address muscles on a deeper level. The intention is to promote deep healing from a heart centered place.

Swedish massage has been around since the 1700′s and was developed by a Swedish doctor. Swedish is very calming and it helps reduce stress and anxiety. The techniques included are long strokes, kneading, tapping, friction and shaking movements.

Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy”. It is a process that flows through the giver to the receiver with the intention of healing. It is meant to address the whole person on all levels. It is profoundly relaxing and encourages feelings of peace, security and well-being.
